Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering
In an attempt to empower women through technical education, Shri Arumugasamy, a noted philanthropist of Tuticorin, has contributed a sum of six lakhs towards the construction of a separate block for ECE, which is designated exclusively for girls.
Started with a mere 30 girls in the year 1982, the strength rose to 36, with the addition of 6 girls in the second year. Later, the allotted seats doubled to 72 (60 + 6 + 6), benefitting more number of girl students.
While the shift system was adopted just as in other branches, no part time classes were conducted for this branch.

The Laboratories have sufficient number of equipments to meet out the needs of the students, as per the syllabus so as to impart good practical knowledge to the students.The Computer lab has sufficient number of computers to provide hands on practical to the students individually. An internet connection is also available in the computer Laboratory exclusively for Electronics Engineering Department to have access with the recent changes in the Electronics Engineering world.
